As a youth development program, we teach and reinforce the nine core values: two of which being responsibility and perseverance. Attending classes regularly is an easy way to practice those values. In the case of an emergency, we do understand and excuse those absences.
WHAT ARE CLASSES LIKE?
Class size, age, and curriculum vary according to the class your child is enrolled in. All students begin at the PAR level of the program. At this level, we focus on introductory golf instruction and interpersonal skills. The next level is BIRDIE. At this level, we provide more advanced instruction and focus on goal setting. The EAGLE level is designed for students who have been with The First Tee for a minimum of 3 years and practice regularly outside of The First Tee. At this level, our most advanced golf curriculum is delivered as well as our life skills curriculum which is focused on resiliency and planning for the future.
WHAT AGES ARE THE STUDENTS?
We have classes for ages 6-17. We also have classes for all ability levels.
ARE THERE ANY PERKS OF JOINING THE FIRST TEE?
There are many benefits of The First Tee Experience. Our goal is not only to improve your child's golf game but to aid in character development by reinforcing the values inherent to the game of golf. WHERE SHOULD I BUY JUNIOR GOLF CLUBS AND WHAT SHOULD I BUY?
There are two primary locations that we recommend:
Golf Headquarters (Ask for Tony)
13110 Shelbyville Road
Louisville, KY 40243
502-245-8600
Seneca Golf Course (Ask for Kevin)
2300 Pee Wee Reese Rd
Louisville, KY 40205
502-458-9292
When looking for junior clubs, be sure to purchase clubs based on your child’s height, not their age. A quick and easy measurement of which clubs are appropriate would be to take the 7 iron out of a set of junior golf clubs and hold it perpendicular to the floor. The end of the golf club should be just below the child's’ belly button.
WHERE ARE SOME LOCATIONS WHERE MY CHILD COULD PRACTICE OUTSIDE OF THE FIRST TEE?
There are several locations the area where your child can practice. Shawnee Golf Course Youth Course. Seneca Golf Course 9 hole Par 3 youth course. Long Run Golf Course 3 hole Par 3 youth course
